Good afternoon, beautiful people! Hope everyone is having a productive day. I'm in a good mood because I was finally able to get a couple projects done and even managed to upload a youtube video DUN DUN DUN. I still have one more Christmas project to work on, as silly as that sounds. I know it's the end of December and Christmas already happened, but I started late okay and it's not my fault :( But speaking of starting late, the reason for that is because I had a big commission to do and also had to purchase a new SD card.

I don't know who believes in Mercury Retrograde, but if you do, then you know that it affects technology big time. And literally soon as Mercury turned retrograde, my SD card started fucking up. Not only would it now allow me to transfer videos unless I took it out of my camera, put it in my laptop, and copied them from some random folder I didn't even know existed (I had to really search), but it also wasn't writing my videos correctly and I had to stop filming every 20 minutes to transfer the videos, delete them, and start filming again. This made making youtube videos super time consuming and frustrating.

My SD card had never fucked up like this in the four years that I had it. But maybe it was just time to get a new one anyway. So I upgraded from a 16gb to a 128gb. This is great for me because it will allow me to film for 6 hours instead of just 45 minutes before I have to transfer and delete, and it also is a good enough SD card so that my camera won't just stop recording on its own. (Yeah, it does that. I have to look up at my cam every two minutes while I'm drawing to make sure she's still recording).

However, this is not the reason for my Mac Miller painting STILL not being done haha. I cannot tell a lie, I pushed that motherfucker back. Decided to shoot for an end of January deadline. I just HAD to get other stuff done before December was over and Mac doesn't have to be done until Valentine's Day, so for me it just made sense to push it back. I know it's like highly requested and everyone keeps asking me about it. I promise I haven't lost the inspiration for it or anything. It's just all about timing. He WILL get done and he WILL be great!

Now on to my recently finished projects, so you all can see and believe that I actually have been doing stuff and not just lying about being busy lmao. First project I managed to get done was a commission of a little girl, which was very well received by my followers on all of my social media. That's rare. I don't know what it was about this piece that everyone liked so much, but outside of Nas, it was a commission that got the most engagement. I was shocked by that because people typically don't get so excited about my art when it's someone they're not familiar with, like a celebrity. But I'm not complaining at all! It was a Christmas gift for someone and my client posted their reaction and it was one of the best reactions ever, so I feel very proud of myself!

After I finished the commission, I went back to work on my little Christmas elf. It was 1/3 holiday pieces that I planned for this month. It was another one of my little characters, inspired by me, but I changed my afro to look like a Christmas tree with Christmas ball ornaments hanging in it. And I gave myself elf ears. And naturally I had to throw in a deer. I love me some deer, I want to just incorporate them in almost every project I do lol. Anyway, she was a fun little project to work on, and I recorded her as well :)

Last but not least, I finished revamping my Doe Fairy that I originally painted back in September 2017. Ever since I finished her, I never truly felt that she was finished. She was one of those pieces I just stared at and stared at and felt so unsatisfied. And every piece has its flaws, but hers were like popping out at me every time I looked at her. I actually couldn't even bring myself to look at her after a while lmao. It was just bothering me so much. But I'm also one of those artists who just CANNOT re-do a piece immediately after finishing it. I have to like wait at least several months before I can work up the energy to revisit it. So it's been over a year and I was like...it's time. Please feel free to comment on the youtube video and let me know which version you like better! Below is the before and after:

Hola, everyone! It's finally Cyber Monday and now all of yall can finally help me get rid of these prints lmao. It's been a super busy month, working on commissions and original projects I need to finish before 2018 ends. But when I finish all of that, my whole shop will be full of brand new products. Today, I added the following new prints and stickers to the shop:

My Cyber Monday is more like a Cyber week because it's going to run until December 1st, just to make sure all the old things go and make room for my new shit! :) I also plan on having a month-long holiday sale on not just prints but sticker packs as well. Maybe even free shipping on originals that cost less than $100, oooooohhh lol. Feeling generous this season.

Other than that, I'm still working on the same two projects as well as some Christmas gift commissions. Gotta love deadlines. I picked up some new supplies though! I decided to start using vellum bristol paper again so people can have more options when commissioning a color pencil portrait. Also re-upped on some essential pastel sticks and pencils that I was starting to run low on. Got some new sticker paper (matte this time), because my old sticker paper wasn't sticky enough and my stickers kept coming off of my laptop. I'm gonna be resourceful and continue using the remaining glossy sticker paper for my shipping labels since they have no problem sticking to cardboard!

My most important purchases this month have definitely been my Epson ink (so expensive but worth it in this case) and the new paper I'm using to make my prints on. I legit hated it when I first got it because it was actually off-white and not coke white the way I like it lol. And I just didn't think the colors from my work would look good on it but boy..... my prints are better than ever. I can't stop looking at them, I'm so happy. Those of you who know how bad printing was for months can understand why I'm so grateful. I thought I'd never produce again and that I was gonna have to start charging you guys an arm and a leg to get prints through a company lbs. But the universe has been looking out for me lately.

Now I need yall to look out for me and take advantage of this sale lmao. Happy holidays! <3

Finally started on my Mac portrait...DUN DUN DUNNN. And he is turning out.... completely different from how I planned :) lmao. What else is new. I thought I wanted to portray him against a powder blue background and some clouds, and the balloons were going to be hot pink. I didn't stray too far with the balloons, but I made them all different shades of pinks, purples, and browns. I mean I guess not too much has changed, just the color palette. It's just a little darker than I planned. I don't like to draw people who have passed on looking sad or dark, and Mac isn't smiling in the picture either like I planned, now that I think about it. Ugh. Anyway, it looks nice and I'm all about letting the painting do what IT wants to do, so I'm not worried lol. The balloons still need a little more work, and then I can start on the face. I'm dreading it though. I really don't wanna mess it up :/

Aside from that, I've also been working on a little illustration of a Christmas elf. I was just thinking about how last year, I had this idea to do all holiday-themed art for the month of December and I had so many more pieces planned, but only ended up doing two. Baby Grinch and Kermit & Elmo. Which was cool, but I was kinda disappointed in myself because I could've gotten way more done. So this year I decided to do all my Christmas-themed work as 9x12" color pencil illustrations. I mean, those drawings literally take 3 hours at the most. I can knock out sooo many. And of course I plan on filming all of them!

Last project of the year should be my final installation for my Valentine's Day series, which will be a portrait of Aminé. Yes, he's my final beau :). Did I mention I was going to see him live again next week?!!! My baby sister is coming along this time. It's my treat to myself for being so productive the last couple months. I wonder if other artist treat themselves... I'm a strong believer in praising myself for all my hard work. And we all know that even though we enjoy this job, IT IS HARD WORK.

There aren't any new products up on the shop [yet], but I'm going to be purchasing some new ink soon [my knockoff ink that made better prints than Epson's ink is ruining my printer so I have to give it up :((((....] and when I do, any out of stock sticker packs will be returning, as well as new sticker packs, new original pieces, new prints, print packs, and print & sticker combos! Ahhhh, I can't wait!! And if you didn't already know, I am now 100% open for commissions. Chalk pastel paintings included! Make sure you hit me up ASAP if you would like to commission one as a Christmas gift for someone. Today is the deadline for chalk pastel!

Have a productive day, everybody :)
